This part (part 2) of ‘how to make money by working at two part time jobs’ explains a way of making money by being promoted in one of these part time jobs.

As explained in part 1 of how to make money by working at two part time jobs,  someone that I know is working at two part time jobs. One is a part time job working at a home, garden and DIY chain store, and the other is a part time job working for a builder.
The chain store has a career path, a system of promoting people, so it cares about the people that work for it, it cares about them enough to promote them if they have enough talent.

Why should I promote you and help you make money?

This builder isn’t a big business like the chain store. He doesn’t care about promoting people. Chances are, he hasn’t even thought about promoting the people that work for him.
Why should he?
If the people that work for him want to be promoted, they’d better do something about it. They’d better do something about it themselves, because he sure isn’t going to do anything about it.
As long as they can lift a shovel, that’s fine by him.
